At our corporate functions we strive to ensure that every occasion is tailor-made to suit the client's needs.

The format takes the following form of hands on cooking or demonstration: The groups are made up of a minimum of 14 people, and a maximum of 28 (numbers can be stretched for Weber to 32 pax). The guests arrive Monday to Friday for lunch or Monday to Thursday for dinner functions at an allotted time for a drink and then the class commences. The cooking is complete in about 2 hours and then the participants sit down to eat what they have prepared. They are inevitably amazed by their success - and a wonderful time is had by all. We plan for the completion of your event in 4¼ hours.

The cost is R525.00 ex VAT per person.

A bar of your choice can be supplied on a cost plus 10% basis. If spirits are required, bottles are supplied, and the balance returned to the client, You are also free to provide your own bar.

The guests are divided into groups (usually 4) and each group prepares a different dish or if the dish is simple, 2 dishes. The ingredients are all measured and set out on trays prior to the class. Recipes for all the dishes are given to each member of the group. As each group prepares a different dish, we encourage the teams to be slightly competitive. Once the cooking session is complete everyone sits down to enjoy the "fruits of their labour".

Again, the menu is designed for each function. We have a choice of dozens of recipes for each course. However, we have found that the following themes are very popular:

  • Fusion Foods - casual dishes with a balanced mix of East and West

  • Middle Eastern Medley - dishes from Turkey, Lebanon and the Arab States

  • Mediterranean Magic - From Portuguese seaboard right across to the Adriatic
  • Thai Cooking
  • Wrap it Up - A collection of easy wraps for quick meals, starters and even desserts
  • Sushi
  • Bowl Food - Modern style meals from all cuisines that are served in one bowl
  • Fabulous French
  • Pasta and Sauces (the pasta is made in the class)
  • Mexican Fiesta
  • Go Africa - a mixture of dishes from all around the continent.
  • Greek
  • Quick Cuisine - a selection of glamorous easy to put together dishes.
  • Weber Cooking (including preparation of the fire etc.) The following are examples of a menu. However, we have dozens of different recipe possibilities for this "theme".
    • Deboned lamb teriyaki / Moroccan Lamb / Lamb with port and mustard
    • Rump with rub / a very thick slab with blackened spice and stir fry noodles, fillet with a sauce / a whole rump (only possible if we have at least 20)
    • Bread
    • Peri Peri Baby Chicken / Chicken Flattie / Small Turkey with Stuffing and gravy
    • Glazed Salmon / Prawns / Whole Fish in Salt, Pesto or Newspaper
    • Stuffed Butternut/Pumpkin /Grilled vegetables
    • Baby Roasties (potatoes), Squashed Potatoes, Potatoes with Salsa
    • Mexican Breakfast / Pizza / Quessadillas
    • Various desserts: Hot Boozy Cherries / Rum Baked Bananas with Caramel Sauce, crepe suzettes / seasonal fruits / fried Xmas Pudding all served with ice-cream

Prices for these functions will vary according to the meal that follows.

We are happy to supply you with a selection of suggestions for any one of the above menus on request. Corporate gifts can be provided. The value is according to the client's choice. Gifts available include aprons with company logo or "theme" aprons with chilli peppers, vegetables, weber braai etc embroidered on the apron. These are colourful and are really enjoyed by the clients. The cost is around R85 each. Cafe style aprons are also available, also embroidered @ R95 each and embroidered Waiter Style aprons @ R85 each. There is a nominal fee for the digitizing of company logos. Other available gifts include high quality Swiss or German knives, oven gloves, meat lifting forks, a selection of spices, rubs and dressings, Weber recipe books, quality olive oil, balsamic vinegar, small pestles and mortars, microplanes etc.

After the class, each participant receives a full set of the evening's recipes.

The school always has a large arrangement of flowers in the front area - there is no charge for these.

In addition, our new premises are able to provide facilities for meetings. This facility is flexible with cooking classes or just a days meeting and catering facilities provided. Depending on the time of the day, the snacks, meals etc are provided and are all prepared on the premises. i.e. 08h30 Meeting - muffins, fruit, coffee, tea and juice on arrival, 10h30 Tea, coffee, iced tea, juice and biscuits. Flip chart/paper/pens, pens/pencils and paper and a selection of mints. Cost: R200 exclusive of VAT per head. For an all day meeting function, lunch and afternoon tea is quoted according to your budget requirements.

To ensure that we can accommodate your group, please contact us well in advance of your planned function. On confirmation of the date of the function, we will issue an invoice, and require a deposit of R5000. This is a non-refundable deposit. Postponement of a function less than 21 days in advance will attract a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellation of a function less than 5 days in advance will attract full payment.

Should your event run longer than the estimated time, it will attract an extra charge of R1000 per hour thereafter.

Please note: Payment by credit card is available at an extra 3% surcharge - we accept all major credit cards.
